As paradropper a number of larger planes are in use. The advantage of a larger aeroplane is the fact that you can get weight easier to a greater height. It could also be done with a trainer, but you can take up only 1 jumper. In Germany there used to a big Piper which could carry 6 jumpers in 1 go. That’s an additional weight of 9 kilograms.
A big-lift will do the job perfectly. But you have to make changes to the landing gear to get enough room between the bottom of the aircraft and the ground. It will be able to take up 2 jumpers at a time. For an engine a super tigre 23 cc will suffice. The costs of the engine are low and the reliability is good. The only downside of methanol engines is the consumption. That was the reason for me, after a season of burning up 120 litres of methanol just on para’s, to make the change to a ZG62 petrol. The consumption is much lower en the investment in the engine will yeald a return in no time.
